The Maze Runner

     The Maze Runner by James Dashner is a thriller, dystopian novel about a group of kids that wake upon top of a gigantic maze with no recollection of their past, all they can remember are their names. They quickly realize that this is a challenge, a challenge to see if they can make it out. Thomas is the newest member of the group having just arrived via lift and he learns about their lifestyle and what has to be done to retain their society. Everyone in the society has a job, Thomas takes the job of a maze runner, running through the maze and looking for a way out. Inside of the maze there are monsters called grievers, disgusting creatures made of flesh and metal that eat anything they can find. These are the last attempts of a society that was doomed to a seemingly inevitable destruction. This book is an exciting and thrilling novel as you learn the secrets about the maze and what it truly was created for.
