It's Kind of a Funny Story

Ned wants to commit suicide, but doesn't have the courage to throw himself of the bridge, so he commits himself to a hospital instead. Ned had studied all summer for a test to get into a special school where all the "smart" kids go. Not taking any breaks, when he went to the beach, to get ice cream, to a friends house he brought studying material. He gets into the school with a  perfect score, but when the school years starts, he finds out that they got grades confused and it goes downhill from there. In the ward Ned learns that good grades aren't the most important thing. He realizes that life is to do what is enjoyable, not what gets you a good grade. This novel is funny, authentic and has just been turned into a movie, so when you finish reading you can watch the movie (which is also really good).
